Nevada Baylor has a unique and secret skill—she knows when people are lying—and she’s used that magic (along with plain, hard work) to keep her colorful and close-knit family’s detective agency afloat. But her new case pits her against the shadowy forces that almost destroyed the city of Houston once before, bringing Nevada back into contact with Connor “Mad” Rogan.
Rogan is a billionaire Prime—the highest rank of magic user—and as unreadable as ever, despite Nevada’s “talent.” But there’s no hiding the sparks between them. Now that the stakes are even higher, both professionally and personally, and their foes are unimaginably powerful, Rogan and Nevada will find that nothing burns like ice …
Look, there’s not enough love in the world for me to give to Ilona Andrews. Their books are continuously my most anticipated, every year.
And if I devoured this book in a day, then promptly started reading from the beginning of Burn for Me, if I have in fact re-read both books at least 6 times since getting White Hot…well, who could really blame me? (I don’t need your judgement – I challenge you to not do the same with a new IA book!)
The story is amazing. The chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS HOT. The characters – man, I love these characters. I love learning more about them, and we do learn a LOT….though they always manage to leave me wanting to know ALL THE THINGS.
The humor, the family, the kids (!!! I know! I usually hate kids in my books, but IA always manages to make them real and relatable). There’s not one thing about this book that I didn’t love. It was everything I was hoping for, and more.
Also, I’m more than slightly obsessed with Rogan. I don’t even want to know the cure.
And then there’s the snippet for Wildfire….. O_________________________O
That’s all I’ve got to say about that.
